The Eclectic Trophy Competition Rules
The Wags Eclectic Trophy is competed annually over a maximum of three nominated rounds of the following 18-hole Wags competitions at Sandy Lodge Golf Club.
President’s Tankard – Stableford
Lawrie Clarkson Cup – Medal
The Bill Imber Trophy – Stableford
The Silver Jubilee Cup – Four clubs and a putter
The Harvey Boone Memorial Trophy – Stableford
The Captain’s Prize – Stableford
The lowest score for each hole over the rounds shall be used to calculate the gross eclectic
18-hole score for each player.
Each player’s net eclectic score shall be determined by subtracting 80% of the player’s exact handicap on the date of the last round submitted from the gross eclectic score.
The best net eclectic score will be awarded the trophy. In the event of a tie the normal rules of count-back will apply to the net eclectic score.
Each card submitted must have “Eclectic” marked next to the name of the competition prior to play and the Wags Scribe of the Day should register the Eclectic Trophy entries – any card not registered and marked will not count for this competition.
To qualify to enter the Eclectic Competiton a member is required to have played before the first qualifying round a minimum of 6 “social golf” days in the previous 12 months but up to 3 Wags matches can be included. (Scrambles are “social golf” days).
In case of any dispute the Wags Captain’s decision will be final.
